The specialty of this small wine region of Steiermark is Schilcher with its strong acid, formerly wild in taste it is now tamed by new vinification techniques. A young generation of wine makers now tries to discover the hidden sophistication of this west Styrian wine. From Ligist to Ebiswald along the Schilcher wine road, Schilcher is grown on gneiss and marl soils with great effort.
