The name gThermenh refers to the sulfuric and thermal springs in the area, these phenomena in the Viennese basin are visible signs of the tectonic activities. The soils are different sediments so as heavy loam and gravel interfused with lime. The ground water has a lot of minerals in it and the Pannonian weather is very steady and hot, supporting the wine to become strong white or red wines. Apart from the traditional Austrian wines Rotgipfler and Zierfandler are very popular grown.
