Südsteiermark

(1741 ha, white wine 84%, red wine 16%)

This region with its precipitous green hills, Heurigen and the so called “Kellergassen” (cellars lined up in alleys) has an idyllic flair always worth a visit. This area definitely is one of Europe’s most romanticism wine growing areas. These wines grown on slate, sand, marl and limey soils are produced with emphasis on terrain character. And the south European weather gives the wine its fruity and juicy taste.

Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Morillon (Chardonnay) are the wines you will find in every Heurigen.
