Neusiedlersee-Hügelland
(3912 ha, white wine 63%, red wine 37%)
Is the hilly area west from Lake Neusiedl and is also profiting from the Pannonian weather and the climate which the Neusiedlersee offers. There are various wines grown and it seems there is a perfect place for every wine sort in the Hügelland with its various soils (loess, sandstone, loam and black earth). The wine capital of the area is Rust and the town with the longest Kabinett wine tradition.
