Kremstal

It is the area around the river Krems and the town of Krems and Stein, which have beautiful medieval town center. Stein has narrow alleys and archways while Krems has a lot historical buildings and is one of the oldest wine production centers.
As early as the 12th century vineyards with good conditions where given names and documented by the monastery of Göttweig which is located at the opposite hill top.
Weathered prehistoric rock and loam are the classic soils of this area which offer especially Grüner Veltliner and Riesling good conditions.
