Carnuntum
(892 ha, white wine 66%, red wine 34%)
The name Carnuntum recalls the past influence of roman garrisons stationed there. There are still ruins of this old provincial capital of Pannonia, so as the amphitheatre, Heidentor and parts of the ancient roman city.
Göttlesbrunn, Höflein and Prellkirchen are the centers of this wine region, with its loam, sandstone and gravel soils. Climate is influenced by the Danube as well as Lake Neusiedl allowing wine to grow on favourable terms.
